New York City Geographic District #31 had the highest enrollment among Richmond County school districts, welcoming 60,888 students during the 2023-24 school year, according to the New York State Education Department.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2023-24 school year, 51.2% of them were boys, and 48.8% were girls.

The most represented ethnicity among New York City Geographic District #31 students was white, accounting for 39.1% of the student population.

Among the 10 districts in Richmond County, John W. Lavelle Preparatory Charter School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 905 students, while New World Preparatory Charter School welcomed 805 students and ranked third in the 2023-24 school year.
