Malliotakis announces unanimous House approval for anti-fraud bill, gains Trump’s backing for museum

The Office of Representative Nicole Malliotakis shared several updates on her initiatives through tweets at the end of March and the beginning of April 2025. Malliotakis, currently serving in the U.S. Congress for New York's 11th District, provided news on legislative progress and support for cultural projects.

On March 31, 2025, Representative Nicole Malliotakis announced that her legislation to combat stolen check fraud passed the House with unanimous support. The bill will enable taxpayers to receive replacement checks via direct deposit. "My bill to crack down on stolen check fraud passed the House UNANIMOUSLY today & will allow taxpayers to receive replacement checks via direct deposit!"

Later the same day, Malliotakis highlighted the growing support, including President Trump's endorsement, for the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum. Her communication emphasizes the bipartisan nature of the support as the list of co-sponsors grows. "With President Trump’s 100% backing, momentum for the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum is building & our bipartisan list of co-sponsors continues to grow."

On April 1, 2025, Representative Malliotakis reiterated her commitment to combating fraud impacting taxpayers, with a focus on resolving issues related to stolen and cashed tax returns. Her legislation, described as bipartisan and commonsense, successfully passed in the House. "Taxpayers in my district & across America have been ripped off by fraudsters who have stolen & cashed their tax returns & replacement checks. My bipartisan, commonsense legislation to address this issue passed unanimously in the House."
