Nicole Malliotakis, a U.S. Congress representative for New York’s 11th district, has been vocal about her stance on various issues through her recent tweets. Her communications highlight concerns regarding heroin injection sites in New York City and a legal battle concerning voting rights.
On February 13, 2025, Malliotakis expressed her opposition to heroin injection sites operating in New York City. She stated that she had written to Attorney General Pam Bondi urging the Department of Justice to take action against these sites. "This week, I wrote to @AGPamBondi urging the @TheJusticeDept to shut down #NYC’s illegally operating heroin injection sites. These sites not only violate federal law, but have attracted crime, degraded residents' quality of life & fueled drug use."
Later that day, she reiterated her position by highlighting community concerns over these centers. Malliotakis mentioned the increase in crime and drug use associated with these facilities and called upon the new Attorney General and the Department of Justice to intervene. "As residents near NYC’s injection centers speak out against heroin injection centers, which have fueled drug use and crime, I’m asking our new @AGPamBondi & @TheJusticeDept to shut them down!"
On February 14, 2025, Malliotakis addressed another issue concerning voting rights. As a lead plaintiff in a lawsuit challenging New York's law allowing non-citizens to vote, she emphasized her commitment to preserving electoral integrity for American citizens. She criticized state Democrats for what she views as misuse of taxpayer money in this context. "As a lead plaintiff in our lawsuit to block New York’s law allowing non-citizens to vote, I am committed to protecting the integrity of our elections and ensuring that the right to vote remains reserved for American citizens."
