Nicole Malliotakis marks Greek Independence Day, opposes NYC shelter and "City of Yes" plan

Representative Nicole Malliotakis, currently serving New York's 11th congressional district, addressed various issues on March 27, 2025, through her social media platform. Malliotakis, a New York native and poised representative with a background in state assembly service, takes to social media to engage with her constituents on significant matters.

On March 27, 2025, Malliotakis joined forces with Ambassador Ekaterini Nassika and other Greek representatives to commemorate Greece's 204 years of independence from the Ottoman Empire. In her post, she emphasized the ongoing efforts to "strengthen the strategic economic, security, military & energy partnerships between our two countries!”

Later on the same day, she expressed her solidarity with Community Board 3 and the South Shore community. She voiced her "strong opposition to any plan or proposal to build a homeless shelter in Richmond Valley," highlighting concerns over potential impacts on the residential area and its surroundings.

In another message, Malliotakis joined the NYC Council's bipartisan Common Sense Caucus lawsuit. She united with community organizations and officials across New York City against Mayor Adams’ “City of Yes” action. She stated this would "worsen traffic, congestion, and overcrowding," further underscoring her commitment to addressing urban development plans that affect her district.
