Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis has responded to the recent decision to reverse proposed cuts to 9/11 health programs. In her statement, she highlighted the importance of supporting first responders, survivors, and rescue workers from Ground Zero.

"As a native New Yorker, President Trump understands the importance of supporting first responders, 9/11 survivors and Ground Zero rescue workers," Malliotakis stated. She expressed appreciation for the White House's decision to halt CDC cuts that would have impacted staffing at the World Trade Center Health Program and grants for 9/11 research. This action followed a letter sent to the President earlier in the week.

Malliotakis emphasized a careful approach when seeking savings to address national debt. "This is a reminder of why, when looking for savings to reduce our nation’s $37 trillion debt, we need to use a scalpel not a sledgehammer—to avoid unintended consequences and unnecessary anxiety."

She also assured continued bipartisan efforts with her New York colleagues to ensure uninterrupted benefits for 9/11 heroes and survivors. Furthermore, she underscored the commitment to maintaining full funding for The Zadroga Act beyond 2027.
