Today, Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis expressed her support for Attorney General Pam Bondi following the announcement of legal action against Governor Kathy Hochul, New York Attorney General Letitia James, and New York DMV Commissioner Mark Schroeder. The charges relate to allegations of protecting illegal immigrants involved in criminal activities within New York.

Malliotakis stated, "I applaud Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice for holding Governor Kathy Hochul, New York Attorney General Letitia James, and New York DMV Commissioner Mark Schroeder accountable for shielding illegal immigrants who have committed crimes in our state and city, including assaults on police officers, rape, and other violent acts."

The Congresswoman criticized the policies of New York City and State, claiming they have been a haven for foreign gangs and illegal immigrants. She highlighted the Green Light Law as a significant issue, which she argued obstructs federal access to DMV records and allows illegal immigrants to obtain government identification without thorough checks.

"As a state representative," Malliotakis continued, "I fought and voted against the Green Light Law because it restricts officers under the Department of Homeland Security from accessing a database that could prevent a crime or hinder an investigation and also prohibits local law enforcement from sharing important data with federal partners."

She concluded by praising Bondi's actions: "Thanks to Attorney General Bondi’s leadership, New Yorkers will finally see their elected officials held accountable for their actions and failure to prioritize public safety."
