Nicole Malliotakis, a U.S. Congress representative for New York’s 11th District, shared updates on recent activities and recognitions via social media. She highlighted her participation in significant events and legislative initiatives.
On February 11, 2025, Malliotakis posted about joining a bipartisan group of Greek-American members of Congress at the Delphi Economic Forum in Washington DC. During the event, she was honored with the “ἡγέτης” award for her public service. The post can be viewed here.
Later that day, Malliotakis acknowledged the contributions of the "Black Angels," a group of 300 African American nurses who served over 70 years ago at Staten Island’s Sea View Hospital. These nurses cared for tuberculosis patients during a time when they lacked equal rights. Her post commemorating their legacy is available here.
Additionally, on February 11, 2025, Malliotakis addressed the issue of check fraud within her district. She reported 377 cases amounting to more than $5.3 million in losses. To tackle this issue, she collaborated with Representatives David Kustoff and Terri Sewell to introduce bipartisan legislation aimed at modernizing IRS systems for reissuing stolen and lost payments through direct deposit. Details of this initiative are shared here.
