Nicole Malliotakis, a U.S. Congress representative for New York's 11th district, has recently shared her legislative initiatives and positions on social media. Representing Staten Island and parts of Brooklyn since 2021, Malliotakis has been active in addressing issues ranging from animal testing to taxation and voting laws.
On February 10, 2025, Malliotakis announced her collaboration with Representatives Troy Nehls and Dina Titus in introducing legislation aimed at preventing the National Institutes of Health (NIH) from funding animal testing in foreign laboratories. She emphasized that this initiative targets laboratories in South America, Europe, Asia, and Canada that utilize American tax dollars. "Proud to join @RepTroyNehls & @repdinatitus in introducing legislation to stop @NIH from funding cruel animal testing in foreign laboratories in South America, Europe, Asia, and Canada using American tax dollars!"
Later the same day, she expressed concerns about the financial burden on seniors due to taxation on Social Security and retirement income. She argued that seniors should retain more of their earnings without additional governmental deductions. "Our seniors have worked hard & paid taxes their whole lives - they should be able to keep more of their Social Security & retirement income without Uncle Sam trying reaching into their pockets again."
In another post on February 10, 2025, Malliotakis addressed ongoing legal efforts against New York City's non-citizen voting law. Highlighting previous victories in both the state's Supreme Court and Appellate Court, she criticized further appeals as a misuse of taxpayer money. "Tomorrow we head back to court, for a third time, to stop NYC’s unconstitutional non-citizen voting law. After we won in both NY’s Supreme Court & Appellate Court, you’d think Democrats would stop wasting your tax dollars on another appeal!"
