She stated: "The United States should NOT be funding risky research in foreign land, particularly at labs that do not meet our biosafety and security standards."
Later the same day, she called for immediate action on Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) reform, emphasizing the need for Congress to pass bipartisan legislation aimed at reducing prescription drug costs and protecting small pharmacies. She tweeted: "The time for PBM Reform is NOW.
