Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis issued a statement following the resignation of NYPD Police Commissioner Edward Caban.

"The resignation of NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban on the day after the anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11 underscores the need for our police force to be fully funded, staffed and focused on keeping New Yorkers safe from the threats of terrorism and the street crime that impacts all five boroughs of our city. At a time when low morale and a radical city council have worn down the NYPD, we need a Commissioner that is beyond reproach and who has the skills, leadership and fortitude to rebuild morale and keep our city safe."
