Help support the Staten Island Zoo on #GivingZOOday!
This year’s #GivingZOOday falls on Tuesday, November 29th, 2022. The Staten Island Zoo is raising funds to help update the frog habitats in the Tropical Forest wing. Amphibians are critical to the environment they live in. Acting as indicator species, their population serves as a measure of the health of their habitat - the more frogs present, the more the ecosystem is thriving. However, at least one-third of known amphibians are considered threatened with extinction, which is the highest extinction rate of any group of animal!
Your donation will go a long way to assist our animal care staff in updating some of our favorite animals' habitats here at the zoo, which provide a true representation of the creatures we need to support in the wild. Tune in all week to find out more about #Givingzooday on #GivingTuesday
