Staten Island's overdose prevention program reduces fatalities by 77

Northwell Staten Island Performing Provider System (SI PPS) has announced significant progress in its Hotspotting the Overdose Epidemic program. This initiative, developed in collaboration with Northwell Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) and other organizations, has successfully reduced fatal overdoses by 77% in its second year through the use of AI-driven predictive analytics.

The program also achieved a 63% reduction in substance use-related emergency visits. Furthermore, it ensured that 98% of participants received crucial life-saving interventions, including Naloxone kits and fentanyl test strips.

This effort has garnered attention from various media outlets for its groundbreaking impact on overdose prevention.
