SUFFOLK COUNTY: COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - October 3, 2020, 7:00 p.m.

Suffolk County issued the following announcement on Oct. 3.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on October 2, 2020 . Last updated October 1, 2020. 

  • 851,599  COVID-19 tests have been administered in total, an addition of 10,195 tests in the past 24 hours      
  • 5.5 percent of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 1.2 percent of those tested on Long Island in the last reported 24-hour period tested positive for COVID-19
  • 1.0  percent of those tested in Suffolk County in the last reported 24-hour period tested positive for COVID-19
Tested Positive for COVID-19

  • 46,770 total cases
  • 103 new cases
Tested Positive for Antibodies

  • 269,339 in total were tested for antibodies
  • 28,541 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
Fatalities

  • 0 fatalities
  • 2,015 total fatalities
Hospitalization numbers from October 2, 2020

  • 27 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 4 in 24 hours
  • 6  patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU),an increase of 1  in 24 hours
  • 2 new admissions
  • 4 discharges
  • 5,923 discharged since March 22
Hospital Capacity

  • 3,029 hospital beds, 783 available, 26 percent
  • 380 ICU beds 79 available, 21 percent
