BOBBY DIGI FOR ASSEMBLY issued the following announcement on May 26.
World of Dance returns for Season 4 tonight at 10 p.m. ET on NBC, with a judging panel of dance superstars led by executive producer Jennifer Lopez along with Derek Hough and NE-YO. You can also watch it on fuboTV (7-day free trial) or on Sling.
The hit series features some of the world’s most talented dancers competing as solo artists, duos or crews in any style – hip-hop, contemporary, ballet, break-dancing, ballroom and more – for a chance to win a grand prize of $1 million and the title of best dancer in the world.
Contestants are handpicked from qualifying events around the U.S. and worldwide online submissions and compete in five rounds: the Qualifiers, the Callbacks, the Duels, the Semi-Finals and the World Final.
In a surprise twist for Season 4, dancers will walk onto the floor to realize that the Qualifiers have already started. Judges will vote yes, no or Callback (one last chance to make it to the next round).
Also new this season: Judges will raise the stakes in the Duels round by deciding who goes head-to-head. Competitors won’t know who they’re facing until they hit the floor, setting the stage for epic dance battles. The popular Redemption round is back too, but with a special guest judge to decide which acts face off against each other for the final slot in the Semi-Finals and a chance to perform on the “World of Dance” stage.
