Yesterday, Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis stood with President Trump and female members of Congress at the White House to officially launch the Republican Women’s Caucus. During the event, President Trump supported Malliotakis’ effort to build a museum authorized in 2020 on the National Mall, Washington DC.
After significant gains among women voters in 2024, the group plans to advocate for legislation promoting family strength, women’s protection, economic empowerment, workforce development, healthcare, medical freedom, national security, and public safety in the 119th Congress.
A primary goal of the Republican Women’s Caucus is to elevate the role and voice of women, while also increasing representation in leadership. Key legislation includes the Take It Down Act introduced by Rep. Maria Salazar, the Nest Act by Rep. Kat Cammack, and H.R. 842, the Nancy Gardner Sewell Medicare Multi-Cancer Early Detection Screening Coverage Act, co-introduced by Rep. Cammack and Rep. Jodey Arrington. Malliotakis is also a cosponsor of the HOPE with Fertility Services Act, aimed at mandating private insurance coverage for fertility treatments.
Rep. Malliotakis expressed her satisfaction about participating in the event, noting, “I am pleased to join my colleagues at the White House and stand with President Trump to promote our legislation that advances key priorities for women this Congress.” She highlighted the Republican Party’s historical contributions to women’s rights and emphasized the party’s focus on empowering women in various spheres.
The effort to transfer land to the Smithsonian Institution for constructing a museum on the National Mall is led by Malliotakis, with bipartisan backing from Reps. Judy Chu, Monica De La Cruz, Debbie Dingell, Emilia Sykes, Mike Carey, and Brian Fitzpatrick. The corresponding bill, H.R. 1329, has garnered support from over 95 cosponsors.
President Trump underscored his commitment to the museum project, referring to Congresswoman Malliotakis as a “driving force” and expressing his full support: “…we’re going to back it 100%.”
Earlier in March, Malliotakis, serving as Vice Co-Chair, hosted a Women’s History Month celebration with the House Bipartisan Women’s Caucus at the U.S. Capitol. The caucus is co-chaired by Rep. Monica De La Cruz and Rep. Emilia Sykes, with Rep. Janelle Bynum also as Vice Co-Chair.
