Northwell’s Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) has received funding from Staten Island City Council members Kamillah Hanks and David Carr. The grant will be used to purchase new medical equipment for both the North and Prince’s Bay campuses, including a cardiac bypass machine and a 3Dimensions mammography system.
City Council Member Kamillah Hanks said, “By supporting Staten Island University Hospital with capital funding for the cardiac bypass program and the Prince’s Bay mammography unit, we are making a direct investment in the health and well-being of our community. These critical services save lives and provide families with access to advanced care right here at home. When we strengthen our hospitals, we strengthen Staten Island.”
The hospital states that this support will help expand access to advanced technology and specialized care, aiming to meet the increasing health care needs of residents on Staten Island.
