Senator Andrew Lanza, a New York state senator representing Staten Island’s 24th District and member of the Republican and Conservative parties, used his social media platform in early April to highlight community events and observances.

On April 2, Lanza recognized Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month, stating, “April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month. It’s vital that we treat all animals with the respect and love they deserve. If you’re curious how to spot animal abuse or how to report it, visit: https://t.co/GfMWXlTkr1 https://t.co/tWcAjGJILt”.

The following day, April 3, he marked Good Friday with a message for Christians worldwide: “Today, Christians around the globe reflect and solemnly recognize the crucifixion of Jesus Christ – wishing you all a blessed and peaceful Good Friday. https://t.co/7AyxBmxFlD”.

On April 4, Lanza extended greetings to a local sports organization: “Best wishes to Mid Island Little League on Opening Day and for another incredible season ahead! @midislandlittle #statenisland #midislandlittleleague https://t.co/OKTzGkjwef”.

Lanza has been involved in various initiatives benefiting Staten Island. He has advocated for school upgrades, park expansions, open space preservation, measures against domestic violence, strengthening crime victim rights, and addressing prescription drug abuse through legislation (official website). In addition to these efforts, he held leadership roles such as Senate Deputy Minority Leader and served on several key committees including Rules; Judiciary; Ethics and Internal Governance; and Cities 1 (official website).
