Senator Andrew Lanza, who represents Staten Island’s 24th District in the New York State Senate, posted several messages on his social media account in late March 2026, addressing both religious observances and veterans’ recognition.
On March 29, 2026, Lanza shared a message marking the start of Holy Week: “Wishing you a blessed Palm Sunday as we mark the beginning of Holy Week.”
Later that day, he honored Vietnam War veterans and invited the public to an upcoming ceremony: “Today we honor and pay our respects to the veterans who braved the vicious conflict that was the Vietnam War. Welcome Home. Reminder: All are invited to Tottenville High School on Sat. April 18th at 1pm for my 18th Annual Vietnam Veterans Day Ceremony. No RSVP required.”
On March 31, Lanza posted another message containing only a link: “https://t.co/QlO6AQTKKM”
Lanza is affiliated with both the Republican and Conservative parties and has served as Senate Deputy Minority Leader. His committee assignments have included Rules, Judiciary, Ethics and Internal Governance, and Cities 1 (source). He has advocated for community improvements such as school upgrades, park expansions, open space preservation on Staten Island, and measures addressing domestic violence prevention and crime victim rights. In addition to these initiatives, he marked June 21 as Judicial Independence Day following the creation of Staten Island’s 13th Judicial District.
