Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC) has appointed three new members to its Board of Trustees. Anne M. Boyle, Heather M. Butts, and Rev. Lester J. Figueroa began their terms on July 1, joining the board that guides the hospital in serving Staten Island and surrounding areas.
Daniel J. Messina, RUMC President and CEO, expressed his enthusiasm for the new appointments: “We are honored to welcome these three outstanding individuals to our Board of Trustees,” he said. “Each brings a unique perspective and depth of experience that will be invaluable as we continue to advance our mission of delivering exceptional care to our community.”
Timothy C. Harrison, Chair of RUMC’s Board of Trustees, echoed this sentiment: “It is an honor to welcome Heather, Anne, and Lester to the Board… All of us on the Board look forward to serving with – and learning from – Heather, Anne, and Lester.”
Anne M. Boyle brings extensive experience in human resources leadership from her roles at Wells Fargo and other major financial institutions. She emphasized the importance of medical care in Staten Island: “Quality medical care is critical to our community in Staten Island,” she stated.
Heather M. Butts is an academic with a background in public health law and ethics. She serves as an Assistant Professor at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and co-founded H.E.A.L.T.H for Youths, Inc., a non-profit focused on education and healthcare for young adults.
Rev. Lester J. Figueroa has a diverse background in law and ministry. He has been active in civil rights advocacy and leadership development within the Hispanic community on Staten Island.
RUMC continues its mission as a not-for-profit healthcare provider offering comprehensive services across various medical fields.
