Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, who represents New York’s 11th district in the U.S. Congress, used her official social media account to highlight support for public safety personnel and criticize government shutdowns affecting security operations.
On March 10, 2026, Malliotakis posted a message of appreciation for city workers: “Thank you for your service to our city & stay safe!”
Later that day, she praised a member of the New York Police Department, writing: “NYPD Assistant Chief Aaron Edwards is a hero who ran toward danger just like so many of our police officers & firefighters do. They deserve our support & that’s why I’m proud to have delivered funding to keep themselves and our city safe. #BackTheBlue” This statement underscored her commitment to securing resources for law enforcement and first responders.
On March 11, 2026, Malliotakis addressed airport security issues amid government shutdowns: “.@TSA security checks are critical to keeping travelers & our nation safe. Keeping @DHSgov shut down places added pressure on our TSA agents while also inconveniencing travelers with longer lines and the risk of missed flights. It’s time for @SenSchumer & Democrats to stop”
Malliotakis has served in Congress since 2021 after defeating Max Rose and previously represented constituents in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2021. She was born in New York City in 1980 and currently resides in Staten Island. Malliotakis earned degrees from Seton Hall University and Wagner College.
