Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, who represents New York’s 11th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on March 16, 2026, addressing issues related to local heritage, foreign investment, and healthcare for 9/11 responders.
In her first post at 15:09 UTC, Malliotakis announced: “We are pleased that Brooklyn’s Harbor Defense Museum at Fort Hamilton Army Base will remain open so public can continue to learn about NYC’s only Army installation & the role it has played throughout our nation’s history.”
Later that day at 15:31 UTC, she commented on potential foreign investments in Cuba: “Why would they invest in a communist country with a rigged legal system and a regime that stole homes and businesses from its people still in place? Investment will come to #Cuba when, and ONLY when, the communist regime is gone!”
At 20:38 UTC, Malliotakis addressed ongoing efforts to support individuals affected by the September 11 attacks: “We fought to ensure the Zadroga 9/11 healthcare program was fully funded and successfully restored DOGE staffing cuts. Now we are working to improve the care our constituents battling 9/11 related illnesses receive.”
Malliotakis has represented New York’s 11th District since replacing Max Rose in Congress in 2021. Before her congressional service, she served in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2021. Born in New York City in 1980 and currently residing in Staten Island, Malliotakis holds degrees from Seton Hall University and Wagner College.
