On May 2, 2025, Rep. Malliotakis expressed her support, with backing from the President, to defund New York City migrant shelters. She stated that these shelters have negatively affected the quality of life in residential areas and have been associated with criminal activities leading to misuse of public funds.
Later that day, another tweet from Rep. Malliotakis emphasized positive economic indicators, noting “trillions in private investment, hundreds of thousands of jobs, dozens of countries seeking trade deals, many domestic & foreign companies expanding operations in the USA” as a sign of economic success.
On May 3, 2025, Rep. Malliotakis engaged with members of the cosmetics industry to advocate for the Humane Cosmetics Act. This bipartisan bill aims to eliminate new animal testing in the cosmetics industry. She highlighted scientific advancements as avenues to end these practices.
Nicole Malliotakis has served in the U.S. Congress, representing New York’s 11th District, since 2021, succeeding Max Rose. Previously, she served in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2021. Born in New York City in 1980, she lives in Staten Island and holds a BA from Seton Hall University and a degree from Wagner College.
