At 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14, former Tottenville High School standout Nick Chirelli and his current college squad, the NJCU Gothic Knights, were narrowly defeated 7-6 by the Manhattanville Valiants in an NCAA Division III baseball game.
The contest was held at Manhattanville Baseball Field and marked their second encounter with the Valiants this season. In their previous meeting on Saturday, March 14, the Knights were defeated 13-5.
Chirelli took the mound for 4.1 innings and notched two strikeouts.
The Knights are set to play next on Tuesday, March 17, at 3:30 p.m. at Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex against the Baruch Bearcats.
