Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 11th district since 2021, marked Greek Independence Day and other recent events in a series of posts on March 25, 2026.
In her first post of the day, Malliotakis stated: “Today we celebrate Greek Independence Day & honor the enduring legacy of freedom and democracy that Greece has given the world. The United States stands with our allies Greece and Cyprus and, as a proud Greek-American, I will continue to work to strengthen our critical” (March 25, 2026).
Later that afternoon, she highlighted Medal of Honor Day by joining recipient William Swenson from the Medal of Honor Society. She wrote: “Happy to join Medal of Honor recipient William Swenson from the Medal of Honor Society as we recognize the 64 living recipients & the 3,500 no longer with us on this Medal of Honor Day. Our community is proud Michael Ollis was posthumously awarded this medal from @POTUS Trump.” (March 25, 2026).
That evening, Malliotakis discussed tax policy changes affecting American workers: “This tax season, we eliminated taxes on most overtime pay—benefiting nearly 80 million hourly workers and boosting take-home pay by $1,400. It’s such a popular tax cut that I’ve introduced legislation to extend this deduction to more American workers to put more money back in” (March 25, 2026).
Malliotakis has served in Congress since defeating Max Rose in 2021 and previously represented Staten Island and Brooklyn neighborhoods in the New York State Assembly for a decade. Born in New York City in 1980 and residing in Staten Island, she holds degrees from Seton Hall University and Wagner College.
