U.S. Representative Nicole Malliotakis, who represents New York’s 11th district in Congress, recently addressed several local and national issues through a series of posts on her official social media account.
On March 24, 2026, Malliotakis commented on the reintroduction of concessions aboard the Staten Island Ferry. She stated, “Concessions on the Staten Island Ferry have long been popular with riders looking to unwind after a long day of work,” said U.S. Representative Nicole Malliotakis. “Their return is a welcome addition for commuters.”
Later that same day, she highlighted efforts to maintain historical preservation in Brooklyn. In her post, she wrote, “We’re pleased Brooklyn’s Harbor Defense Museum at Fort Hamilton will remain open—preserving NYC’s only active army military site and its history for future generations.” The Harbor Defense Museum is located at Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn and is known as New York City’s only active army military site.
On March 25, 2026, Malliotakis addressed federal funding and government shutdown concerns regarding airport security workers. She posted, “Fees paid by travelers should be used for their intended purpose—supporting @TSA. Legislation I’m sponsoring with @RepLangworthy does exactly that and helps ensure TSA agents are paid, even in the event of a government shutdown.”
Malliotakis has served as the representative for New York’s 11th district since 2021 after replacing Max Rose. Before joining Congress, she was a member of the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2021. Born in New York City in 1980 and currently residing in Staten Island, Malliotakis holds degrees from Seton Hall University and Wagner College.
