U.S. Representative Nicole Malliotakis, who represents New York’s 11th district in Congress, recently highlighted her participation in local events celebrating Italian-American heritage and honored a retiring NYPD sergeant, according to posts from her official office’s social media account.
On October 11, 2025, Malliotakis shared her experience at a Brooklyn parade: “Nicole enjoyed the annual Columbus Day Parade along Bensonhurst’s 18th Avenue in #Brooklyn with @fiaobklyn. Our district is proud to be home to the largest Italian-American community in the nation! https://t.co/bGCgixXUnp”.
Later that day, she posted about another event: “Enjoyed spending time with Councilman @frankmorano & constituents at the Italian Festival at Mount Loretto! We’re proud to represent the largest community of Italian-Americans in the country. Happy Columbus Day! https://t.co/um0EMpZHVE” (October 11, 2025).
On October 12, 2025, Malliotakis recognized law enforcement service by stating: “Nicole joined Councilman @frankmorano in honoring #NYPD Sergeant James Gatto on the occasion of his retirement after 40 years of service to New York City! We appreciate his dedication and wish him the best in his next chapter. https://t.co/ChE0IN7EG6”.
Malliotakis has served as U.S. Representative for New York’s 11th District since 2021 and previously was a member of the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2021. She succeeded Max Rose in Congress and resides in Staten Island. Born in New York City in 1980, she is an alumna of Seton Hall University and Wagner College.
