In a third post at 20:14 UTC, Malliotakis explained further: “We put together a balanced stopgap measure that addresses the affordability issue that consumers are facing today with premiums increasing, as well as fix some of the abuses by insurance companies and their brokers that have led to a tremendous amount of taxpayer money being”
Malliotakis has represented New York’s 11th district since replacing Max Rose in 2021. She previously served in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2021. Born in New York City in 1980 and currently residing in Staten Island, Malliotakis holds degrees from Seton Hall University and Wagner College.
Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) have come under increased scrutiny for their role in setting prescription drug prices and negotiating with insurers. Legislative efforts like those referenced by Malliotakis seek to address both consumer affordability concerns and alleged abuses within the insurance sector.
