U.S. Representative Nicole Malliotakis, who represents New York’s 11th district and has served in Congress since 2021, recently addressed a range of topics on her official Twitter account, including criticism of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, support for foster youth initiatives, and condemnation of congressional visits to Cuba.
On April 29, 2026, Malliotakis criticized Senator Chuck Schumer for remarks about federal law enforcement agencies. She stated: “.@SenSchumer should be ashamed of himself for saying “nobody respects” ICE and Border Patrol. If he cared about the Americans in our state getting killed or victimized by illegal immigrants, he would stop the political games and fund @DHSgov in its entirety.”
Later that day, she highlighted her past involvement with the Seamen’s Society for Children and Families. In a post at 17:24 UTC on April 29, she wrote: “As a former board member of the @SeamensSociety, which does important work for foster youth in our community, I am proud to support legislation to expand opportunities in education & workforce training for youth aging out so they are better prepared for independence and success.”
In another statement made at 19:39 UTC on April 29, Malliotakis addressed recent congressional travel to Cuba: “Communist sympathizers in Congress had the audacity to travel to Cuba to prop up the communist regime tormenting its people, harboring our fugitives and providing a safe haven for terrorists and our adversaries to operate.”
Malliotakis has represented New York’s 11th District since defeating Max Rose in the 2020 election. Before serving in Congress, she was a member of the New York State Assembly from 2011 through 2021. Born in New York City in 1980 and currently residing in Staten Island, Malliotakis holds degrees from Seton Hall University (BA) and Wagner College.
