U.S. Representative Nicole Malliotakis, who represents New York’s 11th district in Congress, posted a series of statements on her official account between November 13 and November 14, 2025, addressing recent congressional votes and Republican economic policies.
On November 13, Malliotakis criticized House Democrats regarding the government shutdown. She wrote: “All but 6 House Democrats voted to prolong shutdown & continue hurting American citizens, federal workforce & the economy.
They voted to NOT pay our military & federal employees,
They voted to continue air traffic delays.
They voted to make citizens on SNAP & WIC go hungry.”
Later that day, she commented on the state of the economy under Republican leadership: “In just 10 months, Republicans’ economic policies have not just brought down inflation, mortgage & interest rates, we are attracting trillions in private investment & restoring domestic manufacturing.” (November 13, 2025).
The following day, Malliotakis highlighted her efforts in supporting military and public safety funding for New York City: “From delivering funding for upgrades at Fort Hamilton Army Base and our VA hospital to protecting NYC’s critical counterterrorism funds, Nicole will always fight for those who protect our city and nation.” (November 14, 2025).
Malliotakis has represented New York’s 11th District since defeating Max Rose in the 2020 election and taking office in January 2021. Prior to her tenure in Congress, she served in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2021. Born in New York City in 1980 and currently residing in Staten Island, Malliotakis holds degrees from Seton Hall University and Wagner College.
