Nicole Malliotakis, U.S. Representative for New York’s 11th district and a Staten Island resident, has used her social media platform to address issues ranging from New York City’s budget crisis to disability advocacy and animal welfare.

On February 10, 2026, Malliotakis shared an op-ed she authored in the Daily News, highlighting concerns about the city’s financial management. She stated, “Read my latest op-ed in the Daily News about NYC facing a $12 billion budget crisis—how one-party rule, reckless spending, and socialist giveaways ballooned City Hall’s budget from $77B to $112.4B while basic services and public safety fall apart.”

Later that day, she posted about a visit with Special Olympics New York representatives: “It was great to welcome @SpecOlympicsNY to our office, especially coach & athlete Daniel from Staten Island, to discuss their work on supporting athletes with disabilities & recent funding we supported to expand their programs.” The tweet underscored her support for organizations aiding individuals with disabilities.

In another post on February 10, Malliotakis discussed animal welfare issues following a meeting with actress Edie Falco and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). She wrote, “This morning, I met with Edie Falco and @peta to discuss our our shared interest in ending the importation of primates for unnecessary animal testing that both inhumane and poses a risk to biosecurity.”

Malliotakis has represented New York’s 11th District in Congress since 2021 after serving ten years in the New York State Assembly. She succeeded Max Rose as representative of the district. Born in New York City in 1980 and currently residing in Staten Island, Malliotakis is also an alumna of Seton Hall University and Wagner College.
