U.S. Representative Nicole Malliotakis, who serves New York’s 11th district and is based in Staten Island, posted a series of tweets between March 25 and March 26, 2026, addressing public safety, first responder recognition, and criticism of federal policies.
On March 25, Malliotakis’s office reported participation in a local event honoring emergency personnel: “Today, our office attended the 2026 FDNY Valor Awards, hosted by the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce, recognizing the bravery and service of FDNY and EMS members. As we approach the 25th anniversary of September 11th, we remain committed to ensuring our first responders have https://t.co/8CuceUwYPk”.
The following day, she commented on the effects of a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shutdown: “Since the @DHSgov shutdown began last month, hundreds of @TSA agents have left—and those who remain have been working without pay. @SenSchumer and @RepJeffries —stop playing politics with our national security and fund DHS. https://t.co/hFCCVIT0fx https://t.co/cJxSB6QCWw”.
Later that day, Malliotakis responded to an incident involving law enforcement policy: “A tragedy that never should have happened—yet policies championed by @SenSchumer, @RepJeffries, and @GovKathyHochul allowed this individual to enter, be set free, and evade @ICEgov despite 15 prior arrests. Devastating. https://t.co/ZG5CQtWdMn”.
Malliotakis has represented New York’s 11th congressional district since replacing Max Rose in 2021. Prior to her tenure in Congress, she served in the New York State Assembly for a decade beginning in 2011. Born in New York City in 1980 and currently residing in Staten Island, she holds degrees from Seton Hall University and Wagner College.
