U.S. Representative Nicole Malliotakis, who serves New York’s 11th district and has been in Congress since 2021, posted a series of statements on her official account addressing border security, animal research, and law enforcement protections.

On March 23, 2026, Malliotakis criticized Democratic leaders for their stance on immigration enforcement funding. She wrote: “Despite recent violent crimes by illegal immigrants, @SenSchumer & @RepJeffries want to defund both border patrol and ICE and are holding Homeland Security funding hostage despite terrorist threats.”

Later that day, she drew attention to the importation of monkeys for research purposes. In collaboration with Rep. Dina Titus and actress Edie Falco, she urged the Department of Health and Human Services to halt these imports. Malliotakis stated: “Monkeys like cute little #Punch are shipped into the USA every year to disappear into research labs. I was joined by @repdinatitus & actress Edie Falco as we urge @HHSGov to stop their importation for cruel & unnecessary experiments! Read our op-ed:”

On March 24, 2026, Malliotakis referenced recently passed bipartisan legislation targeting individuals who harm law enforcement animals. She said: “Last week, the House passed bipartisan legislation to ensure that illegal immigrants who harm law enforcement animals like little Freddie who was kicked while inspecting luggage at Dulles Airport can be denied entry and deported from the United States.”

Malliotakis represents New York’s 11th congressional district after replacing Max Rose in 2021. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2021. Born in New York City in 1980 and currently residing in Staten Island, Malliotakis holds degrees from Seton Hall University and Wagner College.
