Nicole Malliotakis, a U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 11th district, has recently shared her views on significant legislative matters through a series of tweets. Serving in Congress since 2021 after replacing Max Rose, Malliotakis has also had a decade-long tenure in the New York State Assembly. Her recent social media posts focus on tax legislation and policy priorities.
On July 2, 2025, Malliotakis highlighted the potential consequences of failing to pass what she refers to as the “big, beautiful bill.” She stated that such failure would result in the expiration of the 2017 tax cuts, leading to a “$4 trillion tax increase on families and businesses.” She further noted that this would cause all income tax rates to rise, bring back the alternative minimum tax, and reduce both the standard deduction and child tax credit by half. “Failure to pass the big, beautiful bill means the 2017 tax cuts expire causing a $4 trillion tax increase on families and businesses.”
In another tweet posted later that day, Malliotakis enumerated several key components of what she calls “The Big Beautiful Bill.” These include middle-class tax cuts, secure borders, a strong military presence, support for American manufacturing (“Made in USA”), elimination of waste and fraud, and protection for vulnerable populations. “The Big Beautiful Bill: Middle-Class Tax Cuts Secure Borders Strong Military Made in USA Eliminate Waste & Fraud Protect Our Vulnerable”
Additionally, Malliotakis expressed her stance on fiscal responsibility and immigration policies with a pointed message stating her alignment with “hardworking taxpayers” over “fraudsters & illegal immigrants.” “We’re on the side of hardworking taxpayers NOT fraudsters & illegal immigrants like you.”
Malliotakis was born in New York City in 1980 and resides in Staten Island. She holds degrees from Seton Hall University and Wagner College.
