Nicole Malliotakis, a U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 11th district since 2021, has recently used her official social media platform to comment on issues relating to infrastructure funding and oversight of health insurers.
On January 20, 2026, Malliotakis stated her commitment to the city, writing, “I’ll always fight for New York City, even if it means standing up to my own party to protect funding for infrastructure, transportation, public safety & other critical services.”
The following day, she addressed federal funding for a major transportation project. On January 21, 2026, she posted: “I am happy that funding for the Gateway Tunnel connecting NYC & NJ is in the final Appropriations package. It is critical that @WhiteHouse and @USDOT release currently held funding so this Northeast Corridor project stays on schedule & contractors do not have to suspend work.”
Later that same day, Malliotakis highlighted congressional oversight of health insurance companies. She wrote: “Tomorrow @WaysandMeansGOP will hold a hearing with the 5 largest health insurers. While Democrats wanted to hand them more tax breaks with ZERO reforms, we’re holding them accountable for raking in skyrocketing profits while increasing premiums and denying 1/3 of claims.”
Malliotakis has served in Congress since defeating Max Rose in the 2020 election. Before joining Congress in 2021, she was a member of the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2021. Born in New York City in 1980 and currently residing in Staten Island, Malliotakis holds degrees from Seton Hall University and Wagner College.
