Nicole Malliotakis, currently serving as a U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 11th district, shared several updates on social media that reflect her focus on government efficiency, involvement in youth development programs, and significant events in the religious community.
On May 8, 2025, Malliotakis expressed her views on government program administration by stating that “rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse, eliminating unnecessary overhead, while administering programs more efficiently, will allow these benefits to reach the most vulnerable individuals these programs were created to protect.” This tweet underscores her commitment to ensuring that government aid effectively reaches those in need.
Later the same day, Malliotakis announced her new role with The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI). She stated: “I’m proud to be a new board member of @TheCHLI, a bipartisan organization with a mission to providing internships, mentorship’s & opportunities for young people across government and private industries.” This highlights her engagement in fostering opportunities for youth across various sectors.
In another update from May 8th, she celebrated a milestone event within the Roman Catholic Church. She congratulated Cardinal Robert Prevost of Chicago on his election as Pope by tweeting: “We congratulate Cardinal Robert Prevost of Chicago on his election as the next and first American Pope of the Roman Catholic Church! Malliotakis has served in Congress since replacing Max Rose in 2021. Before this role, she was part of the New York State Assembly from 2011 until 2021. Born in New York City in 1980 and residing in Staten Island now at age 42, she is an alumna of Seton Hall University and Wagner College.
