Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis expressed her satisfaction with the decision to allow Lucy the Pig to remain with the Gannone Family. In a statement, she highlighted that Mayor Adams had responded positively to their requests regarding Lucy’s situation.
“We are overjoyed to learn that Mayor Adams heard our pleas and is allowing Lucy to stay in her loving home with the Gannone Family,” Malliotakis stated. She emphasized that the possibility of Lucy being confiscated or resulting in fines for her owners was distressing.
“The idea that this properly registered emotional support animal who has been part of the family for years could be confiscated or cause her owners to be fined thousands of dollars was unsettling,” she added.
Malliotakis praised Mayor Adams’ decision as the correct one and extended well wishes to Lucy and her family. “Mayor Adams made the right call here, we were happy to have helped and we wish Lucy and her family well in her remaining days.”
