Nicole Malliotakis, U.S. Representative for New York’s 11th district, recently shared updates on bipartisan legislative efforts and economic engagement with Canada through a series of posts on her official social media account.
On December 11, 2025, Malliotakis highlighted the passage of a bill she co-sponsored: “I’m proud that bipartisan legislation I co-sponsored to update outdated laws that tax less-lethal devices our law enforcement uses—like Tasers—as traditional firearms was passed by @WaysandMeansGOP. These antiquated rules drove up costs and delayed police from obtaining newer,” she wrote.
Later that day, Malliotakis discussed the economic ties between her district and Canada, noting the employment impact and export figures: “In our congressional district, Canadian-owned businesses employ 750 residents and businesses in our district exported more than $47 million in goods to Canada. As trade negotiations continue between our two nations, I appreciated today’s honest dialogue with Canadian Ambassador” (December 11, 2025).
In another post on December 11, 2025, she addressed health care policy concerns: “The Affordable Care Act signed into law by President Obama is simply not affordable as premiums have skyrocketed while insurance companies made record profits. Our bipartisan legislation is a balanced, centrist approach to protecting our constituents from steep premium hikes,” Malliotakis stated.
Malliotakis has represented New York’s 11th District in Congress since 2021 after serving a decade in the New York State Assembly. She succeeded Max Rose in Congress and resides in Staten Island. Born in New York City in 1980, she holds degrees from Seton Hall University and Wagner College.
