Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis has announced the selection of nine students from her district who have been admitted to various U.S. military service academies for the upcoming year. The students were chosen by Malliotakis’ U.S. Service Academy Committee, led by Captain David Martin, USCG (Ret.). In total, 23 students received congressional nominations to four service academies.
The academies requiring congressional nominations include the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY.
Among those accepted into the United States Naval Academy are Andrew Krivenko from Susan Wagner High School, Alexa Deng from Millennium Brooklyn High School (NA Prep School), Marcello Signorastri from Msgr. Farrell High School, Max Soltsman from Susan Wagner High School, Luke Roberts from Moore Catholic High School (enlisted U.S. Navy to NAPS), and Sean Ahern also from Msgr. Farrell High School.
Julia Povarchuk of Tottenville High School was accepted into the United States Military Academy.
Ryan Leonard of Msgr. Farrell High School will attend the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
Kymani Coggins of Nicotra Early College Charter School was selected for the United States Air Force Academy Preparatory School.
