Nicole Malliotakis, a U.S. Congress member representing New York’s 11th district since 2021, shared updates on her legislative efforts through social media posts on May 6, 2025. These tweets highlight her ongoing work in areas such as tax relief for seniors, pharmaceutical supply chain security, and public safety regulations.
On May 6, 2025, Malliotakis expressed gratitude to AARP and AARPNY for supporting her legislation aimed at reducing taxes on social security income for senior citizens. She stated her optimism about delivering this “much needed relief” “Thank you to @AARP and @AARPNY for backing my legislation to reduce taxes on the social security income our senior citizens rely on. I am optimistic we will deliver this much needed relief!”.
Later that day, she discussed her advocacy for legislation focused on returning the pharmaceutical and medical supply chain to domestic control. She noted the importance of having an administration that acknowledges this issue as one of national security “Nicole introduced and has been advocating for legislation to return our pharmaceutical & medical supply chain. It’s nice to finally have an administration that recognizes that this is an issue of national security and we cannot rely on foreign countries, particularly Communist”.
In another post from the same day, Malliotakis highlighted bipartisan efforts to regulate helicopter traffic near the Statue of Liberty. The proposed legislation aims to ban non-essential helicopter flights within a 20-mile radius of the landmark due to concerns over public safety and quality of life disruptions caused by tour companies operating without oversight “Our bipartisan legislation will ban non-essential helicopter traffic within a 20-mile radius of the Statue of Liberty. We must rein in these helicopter tour companies which have operated without meaningful oversight for decades, risking public safety & disrupting quality of life.”.
Malliotakis has served in Congress since replacing Max Rose in 2021 after previously serving in the New York State Assembly from 2011-2021. Born in New York City in 1980, she currently resides in Staten Island and holds degrees from Seton Hall University and Wagner College.
