Nicole Malliotakis, U.S. Representative for New York’s 11th district, addressed issues related to border security, healthcare costs, and a community member’s return in a series of posts on her official social media account this week.
On January 15, 2026, Malliotakis wrote: “The border is secure. Foreign criminals & gangs are being deported and, if municipalities cooperated with federal law enforcement, there would be no raids. We next need to focus on reform of our antiquated & bureaucratic immigration system to reflect our nation & economy’s”. The statement reflects ongoing debates over U.S. immigration policy and cooperation between local and federal authorities.
Later the same day, she commented on healthcare expenses: “The biggest thing we can do to bring down health insurance and pharmaceutical costs is to rein in the insurance companies and PBMs raking in big profits at patients’ & taxpayers’ expense.” Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) have been under scrutiny from lawmakers seeking ways to reduce consumer costs for prescription drugs.
On January 16, 2026, Malliotakis expressed gratitude regarding the expected return of an individual to the United States: “This is great news and we appreciate the support of the community, media and State Department,” Malliotakis said. “We look forward to his safe return to the United States.”
Malliotakis has served as U.S. Representative since 2021 after previously representing parts of New York City in the State Assembly from 2011 through 2021. She was born in New York City in 1980 and resides in Staten Island. Her academic background includes degrees from Seton Hall University and Wagner College.
