Nicole Malliotakis, a U.S. Congress representative for New York’s 11th district since 2021, shared several updates on social media regarding legislative initiatives and recent events. Malliotakis, who previously served in the New York State Assembly from 2011 to 2021, continues to engage with her constituents through various policy proposals and statements.
On May 22, 2025, Malliotakis announced a significant legislative proposal via Twitter. She stated that “Our one big beautiful bill also includes $12.5 billion to begin the long-overdue modernization of our nation’s antiquated air traffic control system which has plagued Newark airport with delays and outages.” This initiative aims to address longstanding issues at Newark Airport by updating the air traffic control infrastructure.
In another tweet on the same day, she highlighted a provision aimed at assisting seniors on Social Security. She tweeted: “My legislation to provide a bonus deduction for seniors on Social Security—$4,000 for individuals earning up to $75,000 and $8,000 for married couples earning up to $150,000—is included in our one big beautiful bill.” The proposal is designed to reduce income tax obligations for seniors receiving Social Security benefits.
Later that morning, Malliotakis expressed condolences over an incident involving Israeli embassy staffers. She wrote: “We are shocked & saddened to learn that two Israeli embassy staffers were murdered by a pro-Hamas terrorist sympathizer outside the Jewish Museum in Washington, DC.” She further conveyed solidarity with Israel and condemned antisemitism while calling for strict legal action against the perpetrator.
Malliotakis was born in New York City in 1980 and resides in Staten Island. She holds degrees from Seton Hall University and Wagner College.
