For the past quarter-century, the DiMartino family has turned their Staten Island home into a holiday display to raise money for the pediatric cancer center at Staten Island University Hospital. The annual event, known as “Lights for Life,” features an extensive light show and performances by local artists and school groups.

The fundraiser has become a staple of the community’s holiday season. Last year, the DiMartinos collected $82,620 for the hospital. This year, they have set a goal of raising $90,000 to support patients such as Lillian Martinez.
