On Wednesday, March 11, at 3 p.m., Chris Mattioli, a former Monsignor Farrell High School standout, and his current team, the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights, were edged out 15-14 by the Monmouth Hawks in NCAA Division I baseball play.
The matchup, which was the teams’ first meeting of the season, was held at Naimoli Family Baseball Complex.
Mattioli pitched three innings, surrendering four earned runs with one walk and registering five strikeouts.
Fairleigh Dickinson is set to face the Coppin State Eagles next, with the game scheduled for Friday, March 13, at 3 p.m. at the Naimoli Family Baseball Complex.
