Centenary Cyclones fall 9-4 in Division III baseball as Staten Island native Spungin pitches

On Saturday, Feb. 28, at 11 a.m., Anthony Spungin, a former Monsignor Farrell High School standout, appeared for his current college team, the Centenary Cyclones, who were defeated 9-4 by the Manhattanville Valiants in their NCAA Division III baseball game.

The contest was held at Our Diamond of Dreams. It marked their first meeting with the Valiants this season.

Spungin pitched three innings, giving up three earned runs, issuing two walks and striking out six batters.

The Cyclones are set to face the New Paltz Hawks next on Friday, March 6, at 2 p.m. at Our Diamond of Dreams.
