Baruch Bearcats, featuring former Monsignor Farrell High School standout Nicholas LaPointe, were narrowly defeated 7-6 by the NJCU Gothic Knights in their NCAA Division III baseball contest held Tuesday, March 17, at 3:30 p.m.

The teams squared off at Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex, marking their first encounter of the season.

LaPointe took the mound for two innings, tallying one walk and two strikeouts.

The Bearcats are set to play again Thursday, March 19, at 3:30 p.m. at Flowers Park, where they’ll face Mount Saint Mary Knights.
